Abstract

The subject of the article is a qualitative analysis of selected problems in the development of rural areas and agriculture and the diagnosis of their specific conditions in Ukraine in the direction to competitiveness. The basis for the analysis are the conditions and needs of the Ukrainian economy related to the further development of rural areas in the context of its European aspirations. In the conclusions, the author presents recommendations regarding further strategic directions of development.
